BYOT -- Spice, Spice, Baby

This weekend, November 2nd, another exciting BYOT is going down.  For those unfamiliar, BYOT stands for Bring Your Own Theater.  It's one of Chicago's most unique theater experiences.  A talented group of performers and writers assembles on Friday evening, and after receiving a theme, they put together several short plays that are brought to life Saturday night.  24 hours to make it all happen.  The results are amazing.  Above and below are examples of scenes I've composed for them in the past.  I've never been disappointed by a performance, and audiences consistently leave smiling.  If you happen to live in the Chicago area, come join us this Saturday.  Details in the link.

Hello folks, it's been too long since I updated things.  I want to blame being busy, but I should be making the time for those coming here.  That said, I've sold a few stories to magazines, so those are on the way.  I'll be sure to post regarding where you can get those when they're available.  A lot of solid scifi and some creepy horror, not to mention all the other fine writers who'll be in the same issues/anthologies -- you'll want to get your hands on these publications.  Work on the next Beerfinger album is a crawl but nearing a pace that’ll get it done.  Finally, the video for “Please Sally” is going to get done before the end of the year.  I've also gotten booked for a few live performances.  To keep track of those events more easily be sure to follow Honesty is Not Contagious on Facebook.

The two things I have at the moment are, first off, a video at the top of one of my recent live performances.  I’m telling the story about the first time I ever got on stage, performing as an ax murderer in a campy horror play.  It’s a funny story about taking a chance.  Second, is a link to a Kickstarter for an anthology I’m in.  It’s a collection of feminist scifi literature centered around dragons and bicycles.  Writing a story for it was an interesting challenge – tying bikes, feminism, and dragons together – but a fun one that helped me turn out a great story.  Please contribute to it if you can, or at least share the link on Facebook and Twitter.
Meanwhile, my best to you and yours!
